The Last Lion

This author is generally considered the greatest modern Spanish author. His novel Blood and Sand, famous in its own right, became the memorable Valentino screen classic, and The Four Horesemen of the Apocalypse has been translated into several languages. Blasco Ibanez was considered a communist by many of his contemporaries since his themes usually dealt with corrupt practices of the ruling Spanish bureaucracy, and the need for economic reforms in a classless society. This volume contains many of his shorter masterpieces.
