When Flynn Larson moves to Creekwood Valley, Hattie is certain she has a part to play in his reasons. Only, Flynn doesn’t come around. He doesn’t call, or seek her out, or even invite her to the big old rambler he purchased outside of town. In fact, he seems to be avoiding her at all costs. Therefore, when she comes face-to-face with him in the cereal aisle of the grocery store, she launches herself at him, because—feelings—only to have a great kiss turn bad fast.

Devastated, confused, and embarrassed, Hattie keeps to herself. But that doesn’t last for long, because a serial killer with a frighteningly similar quirk to a case Flynn closed, or thought he closed years earlier, has set his sights on Hattie. And there’s no one Flynn trusts more than himself to guard her. But guarding Hattie won’t be easy. She’s fire and attitude with too much hair and mile long legs he can’t stop thinking about. It doesn’t help she’s determined to flaunt every curve she has in snug nighties, and killer heels.

It seems Hattie is determined to show him just what he refused that day in the grocery store, and as every day goes by, Flynn feels himself losing the game they are playing.

Emotions are high, and fear lingers as a constant between them as they enter a thrilling game of chase. But they aren’t the only ones playing.
