In The Eternal Dance, the characters are rich, and the surroundings seem so alive. I’m not usually a huge fantasy world type of reader, but I think this might be converting me. Filling the worlds with floating islands, Harlequins, Jesters, Elementals, and all the different races is remarkable. - Jim, Amazon Reviewer.

Landis, a wisecracking homeless boy, spent his nights sleeping behind dumpsters and under bushes after the death of his parents. In an old antique shop, he finds a kind old couple who gives him refuge and hides him from the corrupt social worker hunting him.

Hidden in a dusty corner of the warehouse, Landis discovers a painting of a girl wearing a diamond-patterned coat. At first, he passes it by, but there was something about her eyes that draws him to her. They feel like more than just swishes of paint on an old canvas.

Awoken one night to the sounds of sirens Landis searches for a place to hide until he notices a shadowed hand beckoning him to come that way. Racing towards his savior, he trips over the bottom of the frame and lands face-down on the dusty ground. Looking up, he finds a curled slipper and follows the legs up to the ragged end of a diamond-patterned coat, where a Harlequin watches with a mischievous smirk.

Together they walk towards a carnival, past two guards that look like cats, and into the fairgrounds filled with brightly dressed performers, fortune tellers, and a future of intrigue.
