Murder Takes the Bait
(2026)(The first book in the Steamboat Bay Cozy Mysteries series)
A novel by Andi Cane
Lena left a messy life for seasonal work to run an elite fishing lodge in the middle of nowhere Alaska.
Tycoon Vernon Ralston didn't bring his family two hundred miles into remote Alaska just to catch trophy king salmon, He brought them to Steamboat Bay Lodge to compete for his company.
Grant needs his father's money. Melissa is caught searching Vernon's things. Ex-wife Diane is hiding when she last spoke to him. Even charming grandson Kyle goes quiet when Vernon threatens to expose a family secret.
By the second evening, innkeeper Lena Rourke has heard enough arguments to know the Ralstons won't be leaving Alaska on better terms.
Then one of them doesn't come to dinner.
A locked door. A body inside. And a storm that has grounded every plane and trapped the entire party at Steamboat Bay.
Everyone insists they heard the same argument.
The problem is, Lena was there too.
And what she remembers hearing doesn't match anyone else's story.
Genre: Mystery
