The Ride of the Dullahans
(2027)(The third book in the All Hallows of Feyland series)
A novel by Brigid Collins
Set in Anthea Sharp’s world of Feyland: What if a virtual reality video game was secretly a portal to Faerie?
When Kara accidentally stumbles Out of Bounds from within one of Feyland’s early-game caverns while leveling her new Healer character, she’s frustrated, at first. Then she senses a high-level entity lurking in the surreal, foggy OoB landscape, and gets scared. The encounter leaves her shaken as she remembers personal failures she’d rather leave far in the past.
So she’s not exactly thrilled when her work friend Cecil invites her to a Halloween party he’s holding in Feyland next weekend. She’s even less excited to hear that Sam, her ex-boyfriend who loves OoB exploration, is invited, too. For an introvert already grappling with self-esteem issues on top of her recent in-game scare, this situation could not possibly get any worse.
Meanwhile, Adeline, a young Dullahan with a secret to protect and a plot of ghouls to start up, prepares to argue her case for why she and not that besotted fool Eoin should be elected the host of this year’s Ride of the Dullahans. Because if she doesn’t ensure this crucial soul-harvesting event is successful, she could be condemned to return to the grave herself.
Luckily, Adeline has already discovered her ability to enter the strange pocket worlds that lie between Feyland and the Realm of Faerie, where the trees grow at wrong angles and the rocks are turned inside-out.
And she knows any mortals who stumble into those pockets are fair game.
