It’s summer break for high school English teacher and single dad, Miles Harris. Although he and his daughter love their home, he’s decided to make a big move. He fell in love with Seaside, Oregon after helping his friend move to the coastal town. Making this move is a chance he’s willing to take in order to give his daughter a better life. He’s not looking for a relationship, but when he meets Sophie Hyde, all bets are off.

Sophie is on a summer break of her own. But not from her job as the owner of Booked at the Beach, one of Seaside’s favorite local bookstores. She’s declared this summer a break from dating. She’s tired of the slew of crude men she’s encountered on dating apps, so she’s vowed to dedicate the summer to herself––no men.

Then she meets Miles. He’s everything she wants in a man––kind, caring, educated, not to mention attractive and one hell of a kisser. But she’s promised herself a summer break from men. She can’t allow herself to cave to the first man she meets.

Sophie is determined to stick to her summer break, but will Miles’ determination win her heart?
