She closed her eyes in an attempt to block out the bleak pain. “Yes.”
“And to think, I was so sure you weren’t like that.” He ran his finger down her cheek.
“I’m not.” She blinked into his eyes.
“Really?” His smile was scathing. “The facts seem to state otherwise.”
