A coxswain dies at the helm. A gunner is shot before an ambush even begins. Another sailor is hit at the exact moment his boat slows near a crossing. The attacks happen on different waterways, under different conditions, but the pattern is too precise to be luck.
The river crews give the shooter a name: the Delta Ghost.
Then a rifle round strikes Tex Hayes’s gun tub inches from him. For Tex, the hunt becomes personal. For Chief Miller, the near miss proves something worse — the sniper always seems to know where the patrol boats will be.
Streetwalker begins hunting a man who can vanish into miles of reeds, villages, and riverbank. What the River Hawks find instead is a warning network tracking patrol times, routes, and engine noise.
