Being a fairy princess isn't all it's cracked up to be. Take the case of Hildy Carmichael . . .

Adrift in lifeboat somewhere near Key West, Florida after a hurried escape from a violent escort at a costume ball, Hildy is relieved to spot a boat dock in the distance. Emerging from the raft, clad in her fairy princess costume, she is rudely received by the privately-owned key's lord of the manor. The imposing, brusque man turns out to be moody, handsome Robert Barton, with whom Hildy shared a sizzling attraction before he dropped out of sight a few years ago.
Robert reluctantly allows her to take refuge with him from an approaching hurricane, which happens to share her name -- Hildegarde. In the ensuing hours, Hildy discovers that Robert has been licking his wounds following the tragic demise of his marriage and his wife. As the storm approaches, Hildy and Robert bare their souls to each other. The smoldering passion they felt before sparks to life again. But can they trust these feelings and believe in fairy tale happy endings? Will this time be different for them or are they destined to be unlucky in love?
