I came to a remote Colorado cabin to unplug and finish my latest project surrounded by nature.
Instead, everything goes wrong.
The airline loses my luggage, with my backup insulin inside. I get lost trying to find my way to the mountain town and by the time I finally arrive, the only pharmacy has already closed early because of the incoming storm.
As a type 1 diabetic, insulin isn’t optional. It’s what keeps me alive. I have enough in my carry-on to get me through a few days, but not enough for the entire trip.
Still, I manage to make it to the cabin I rented. Only when I step inside, I realize I've rented someone else’s home, and he didn't create the listing.
Randall wants me gone. I want to write in peace. Unfortunately, neither of us is getting what we want.
The blizzard traps us together in his cabin and as the days go by, my medication begins to run low. The last thing I expect is the stubborn mountain man I just met to become the one person determined to keep me alive.

I'd have to be an idiot to miss the worried look on her face or the way she panics at every meal. She won't ask for help, but when I find out she's running out of insulin there isn't anything that could stop me from getting her what she needs.
