Word came that three men at a similar gathering had gone missing. Their horses and gear had been found, but there were no traces of the men. A man named Travis and two others were nowhere to be found. Having met this Travis and recalling liking him, Doc uses their disappearance as an excuse to leave the gathering. It is to be a race against the mountains and a race against time if they are to find these three before all traces of them have vanished.
