The revolution he built is working. That's the problem.
Six months after the gods remade the world, Hopwell Linew leads the Unmakers, an insurgency dedicated to tearing down the magic that killed his family and everyone he loved in Buniler. He has the network, the discipline, and the righteous cause. What he doesn't have is a plan for what comes after he wins.
Delerie was a scholar, then a solider... and then... a lover to the man who unleashed magic on the world. Then she vanished for eighteen months and came back changed: her memories full of gaps, her body carrying scars she doesn't remember earning, and a name she never chose. Now something ancient is waking in the dead zones scarring the land, and only she can hear it.
As Hopwell's war and Delerie's reckoning collide, both will have to answer the same question: when the thing that broke you also becomes the only thing that can save everyone else, do you destroy it, or do you learn to carry it?
A story of grief weaponized into purpose, of a body remade without consent and reclaimed on its own terms, and of two people who have every reason to become enemies and one impossible reason not to.
THE LAST CHASTISER is a standalone epic fantasy novel set in the world of THE ASCENDANT PATH and THE FORGEMASTER CYCLE. No prior reading is required to start here, though longtime readers of both series will find the ending they've been waiting for.
