A Foolish Endeavor
(2026)(The second book in the Clayton House Chronicles series)
A novel by K C Cowan
When second son Gilbert Kendall returns to Clayton House from University, his proud family assumes he will now enter the church. But Gilbert is keeping a secret—he failed to finish his degree and, even worse, he has no desire to become a curate.
Instead, he persuades his father to let him join a friend in London to partake in the pleasures of the Season. His ambitious plan? To woo and win an heiress so he might live the life he believes he deserves—that of a proper gentleman.
One wealthy young lady seems to be encouraging, but is her heart sincere? Meanwhile, back home, Gilbert’s childhood friend waits patiently for him to realize a true love is much closer than he knows.
Note: This series is part of Dragonblade's Sweet Dreams line, so this is a sweet, wholesome Historical Romance where passion beyond the bedroom door is left to the reader’s imagination.
