Atena's Journey

Atena Ocampo is a quadroon living on the west coast of Afran on the Great Southern Continent of a primitive planet in the Human Interstellar Confederation. She hears tales of a great flying city that floated down out of the sky on the west coast of the Great Northern Continent.

At first she disbelieves the accounts but gradually decides they are true, or a reflection of the truth. A deadly warrior and an experienced business woman, Atena has become bored where she lives. She decides to travel to the city to see what marvels and opportunities exist there.

She knows the journey will be long and sometimes dangerous but sets out anyway. Arriving at the marvel she finds that she now has a different kind of journey to pursue: becoming a citizen of the wonderful city.
