After three years away studying law, Mark Randal was keen to be back with his family. Journeying to his new home in New Mexico by stagecoach, he encountered a plausible rogue who turned out to be mixed up in many forms of villainy. Mark's arrival was critical especially as the villain's targets happened to include the family of Judge Odin, who had contributed to his college fees. Backed by a remarkable member of his own family who almost caused his death at the first meeting, Mark fought a gang of rustlers at Smith's Canyon and thwarted a kidnap plot which threatened his female kin.
