Sheila Yonkers wakes up standing in the muck beside the lake not far from her Wyoming house on Thursday night in October. A voice inside her mind keeps on insisting that she come here to find something. But she doesn't know what. While she is gazing off in the twilight at the three mountains across the lake that give the town its name --- Three Mountains --- something at least ten feet tall looms at her out of the shadows. It turns out to be a mull moose.
But that doesn't explain the voices not far off. She listens closely, even though she shouldn't. They are plotting their next murder!
