The Tenant

(2010)
A novel by

When she opened the mailbox, Cheryl found no mail, no magazines, no newspapers. Not even one piece of junk mail! In fact, there was no name card in the slot provided for the tenant.

When she got back to the house that day, she told her mother. "The tenant doesn't even have his name on the mailbox."

Her mother shrugged. "He'll probably get around to it one of these days soon. After all, he just moved in last week."

"Are you sure you don't even know his name?"

"It's none of my concern. Why should I care as long as he pays his rent?"
