Day's End for Gunmen

Dave Frisk whipped out his gun, thumbing back the hammer as his brother swept up the rifle. At the same time, the old man swiftly picked up his carbine and fired rapidly in a low crouch. Red Frisk dropped his rifle and stared incredulously through the rifted smoke. He fell against the banister, slid down it with blood gushing from his stomach, and hit the floor below like a heavy sack. His brother Dave coughed thickly, throwing up blood, thudded down the stairs and lay still.
