A man lies dead from gunshot wounds in a seedy motel in Everglades City. Detective Michael Dalton, now with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, learns that the victim’s prints are linked to a New York crime some twenty years before, one involving a murder.
The killer takes his next victim in Miami, another man tied to the twenty-year-old crime, a crime for which five men received prison sentences. The killer leaves no evidence of his identity at the murder scenes, but he does leave a token of his act at each, maybe as a warning to those left on his list.
As the investigation closes in, the killer refocuses the crosshairs on Dalton and sets a trap for his execution. But Dalton is one step ahead.
