Murder Forestalled

Barbara Porter was being blackmailed - Jack Mahoney wanted a thousand dollars, money she didn't have. She wanted private eye Johnny Preston to get rid of the blackmailer - but Johnny knew that someone had already tried. As Mahoney lay lying in hospital another mobster finished him off. With the blackmailer well and truly dead, Preston found himself back on the case again.
