This book is designed to give the student or craftsman a basic introduction to the craft of lettering, while at the same time presenting him with a handy and practical series of alphabets for general reference and use. The examples range from classic Roman through to modern sanserif letters, and explanatory notes are given under each alphabet. There are hints on the problems of spacing and style generally. The book is now in its fourth revised edition.
