The best way to get over a dead mate is to bite a new one.
That’s the theory, at least - and it’s what gets me sent to the Lawson Pack, an elite military unit still grieving Charlie, the omega mate they lost on a mission a year ago.
The cover story is that I’m Charlie’s estranged sister, Birdie. Barefoot, bruised, and desperate, I give his alphas no choice but to bring me back to their remote mountain cabin, even though they can barely take care of themselves.
Axel, Colt, and Hog are a mess, but I’m not complaining. A broken pack is far easier to escape than a healthy one, and once the snow clears, I plan to put as much distance between us as I can.
Not that their version of caretaking is all bad. Axel, as pack alpha, can’t help but try to fix me with his bossy, gung-ho attitude. Colt’s pretty smirk and dirty mouth are both annoying as hell and impossible to ignore, but it’s Hog, a three-hundred-pound antisocial sniper, who really takes me by surprise. Who knew that home could smell like hickory smoke rising off a winter fire?
But the twisted doctor who sent me to their pack has a secret agenda. He doesn’t want me to heal them; he wants me to blow their world apart. I thought I was the glue, but when my heat hits, we discover that I’m the poison.
Now I need to escape more than ever. But the Lawson Pack won’t let me go without a fight - and for the first time in my life, I’m not sure I want to run at all.
Omega Uncaged is a standalone omegaverse. There are NO shifters in this book, but there are tropes of hurt/comfort, forced proximity, surprise scent match, first ever nest, and knots, bites, and bonds. Check the TWs in the Author's Note.
