He just wanted to learn a little magic… but his lessons didn’t go as planned.
Twelve-year-old Ilien Woodhill is used to trouble, but nothing like this. His enchanted pencil suddenly started talking and won’t stop insulting the schoolyard bullies, he’s accidentally conjured a mob of giant floating eyes that call him ‘Master,’ and now the one person he trusts most seems determined to kill him.
When a mysterious rider drags him into a hidden world of witches, giants, and ancient evil, Ilien discovers he’s far more than an ordinary boy. Some believe he is destined to destroy the world. Others believe he is fated to save it.
Alongside Windy, the brave, sharp-tongued princess of Evernden, he must embark on a perilous quest filled with prophecies, powerful beasts, and long-buried secrets.
As dark forces close in and shocking truths about his own identity surface, Ilien and Windy face impossible choices about power, loyalty, and destiny - choices that lead them to perhaps the greatest magic of all: the courage to be yourself.
A charming and adventurous fantasy perfect for readers ages 10 to 17, and for adults who still crave wonder, heart, and page-turning entertainment.
Genre: Young Adult Fantasy
