The dog kept digging.

Photographer Bizzy Devlin has one job this August: take a vacation. Two weeks at her parents' Delaware beach house, warmer water, and her Labradoodle Luigi in goggles who has already appointed himself beach inspector. Her mother has booked her for the Harrison wedding. Four days' notice. Six thousand dollars. Apparently rest is negotiable.

Then a storm crashes the reception, and the bride will not be collecting her wedding album. The police have a family full of grudges to choose from, but they like Sally Harrison, the groom's daughter, who has been saying exactly what she thinks of the marriage all week. She's also Bizzy's oldest summer friend. Bizzy spent ten years as a forensic photographer, and she knows the difference between a messy family and a scene somebody has tidied up for the police.

Clearing Sally means looking at people Bizzy has known since childhood. With Jacko commandeering her mother's menu whiteboard, her father running a quiet investigation of his own, Diana dispensing neighborhood intelligence between meals, and Luigi lobbying to excavate one very specific dune, Bizzy sets out to prove that the camera caught more than a happy couple. The trouble with photographing a killer is that the killer knows what she might have seen.

The family would like their secrets buried. Luigi considers that an invitation.

Book 8 of the Bizzy Devlin Cozy Mysteries. A fair-play seaside whodunit with a wedding nobody will forget, parents who know more than they're telling, and one very good dog with sand in his goggles: every clue on the page so you can solve it right alongside Bizzy and Jacko, no gore, no cliffhangers. Each mystery stands alone, and the town is best moved into from Book 1.
