The Secret of Crutcher's Cabin

Walt Coburn grew up on the Circle C Ranch in Montana Territory and worked for years as a cowhand before turning to fiction. Here, three of his best-loved stories appear in book form for the first time. Whiskey-running and drug-smuggling between Mexico and the U.S. is the backdrop for "Senor Satan". The title story is set in his home ground of Montana where a boy's father, a rustler, is killed by cattlemen. Questions of the boy's paternity arise when a rancher tries to adopt him, leading to the conflicts that western legend is made of.
