In the second story in this volme, 'Mr. Wray's Cash-box,' a young girl asks the bankers Dunball and Dark to hang an advertisement for elocuation lessons in their window and, having previously seen her grandfather, the thespian Reuben Wray, strolling the town with a large cash-box beneath his arm, they agree. But what does the cash-box hold, and will Mr Wray manage to keep its contents safe? Will their faith be amply rewarded?
