(2026)
A novel by

Baker and influencer Poppy Fields made a career of creating incredible cakes for her social media audience, but nothing prepares her for the night she accidentally live streams her fiancé with another woman. She’d planned to surprise Miles, the lead singer in a local band, with a cake for his birthday, and to celebrate his new hit song, Lorelai. Little did she know Lorelai is actually the name of the woman in Miles’s arms. Even worse, she finds out Lorelai is married to a guy named Kenzo and has two small children.

In a drunken baking frenzy, a humiliated Poppy live streams once again. What starts as a messy, emotional rant spirals into something far worse, as her followers take matters into their own hands. Lines are crossed. Secrets are exposed. And in one impulsive moment, Poppy lets it happen. She doesn’t stop them, and the repercussions are far worse than she ever imagined.

It turns out Kenzo Wilson is the very hot, very desirable half-Japanese/half-Australian pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays. He suspected his wife might be cheating on him, but thanks to Poppy, his family shame becomes public knowledge. This coincides with a career-ending injury, and Kenzo blames Poppy for all of it.

Things go from bad to worse when Kenzo is assigned to help coach a minor league team in Charleston, West Virginia, and his next-door neighbor is none other than Poppy herself. As he starts to know Poppy better, he realizes she just might be everything he ever wanted. But how can their relationship succeed after such a disastrous start, and will being together mean giving up what they both want most?
