Hi, I’m Sparrow.
Singer, songwriter, and musician for The Archers.
I moved to Hollywood at eighteen, scarred, alone, and with a dream. It’s been a struggle to get to where we are. We practice in our guitarist’s mom’s garage. We work shit jobs with shit hours. We’re paid little, if at all, just to have our music heard in bars and clubs. It’s been years, but our hard work is finally paying off. Though the demands are high, a major label has taken an interest.
I’m being noticed.
Just . . . not exactly how I thought I would.
There’s the label’s CEO, Bastian Kline. He’s everything a guy could want. Kind, attentive, selfless. He looks the part of Hollywood royaltyperfect suits, perfect hair, perfect penthouseand has the personality of a saint. He cooks, cleans, grows his own herbs, and glues his completed jigsaws. Dependable, reliable, and caring. He puts others before himself. I’m drawn to him almost as much as he seems drawn to me. In my fucked-up life, he’s safe.
Then, there’s him. I feel his eyes on me and hear his boots hit the sidewalk behind me on my walks home, but when I turn around, he'''s not there. Heard, felt, and never seen. His soft footfalls can be heard at night, in my single bedroom apartment where I live alone, walking down the hallway, closer and closer to my bedroom. Sometimes I'''ll wake during the night and hold my breath, just to hear the faintest sound of his from the darkest part of my room. He’s my stalker, and he’s escalating. He’s chasing me home, laughing at my fear. He’s writing in my notebooks, obsessively. I find myself waiting for his next move. In my fucked-up head, he’s exciting.
Hollywood is knocking, and its demands are almost too much to bear.
My past is calling, demanding I return to a place of immense despair.
I’m not strong enough to do it alone. I have to choose.
It should be an easy choice. It would be for anyone else. But I spent years having to be safe, to be careful, to follow strict rules. It feels like I’ve only just gained my freedom, and now I yearn for excitement. Yet in this world of harsh realities, I also crave safety.
Hi, I’m Sparrow, and I don’t know what to do.
Watch Me is a ~97k MM romance featuring an aspiring rock star in Hollywood plagued by his feelings for his stalker and his difficult past. There will be laughing, screaming, crying, singing, and a not-so almost why-choose keeping everyone on their toes. Though it is the first to be released in the Hollywood Hearts series, Watch Me is a HEA with no cliffhangers and does not have to be read to enjoy the other books. Mature audience only.
Genre: Gay Romance
