Up until like a week ago, I never knew shifters, vampires, and magic existed. Not until I ran into a guy that tried to kill me at an archeological dig because I talked back to him.
Now I’m a shifter. I call myself a hellhound, but since I also have a human-shifter form that’s decidedly more demonish, I’m not quite sure what I really am.
I just know I’m not the Syd I was born as.
My new place in New York is amazing. It helps that it gets me away from the small town where I lived and had to kill way too many shifters to protect myself. Except the neighbors are curious about me and are following me.
And then someone attacks my sister and brother. Nearly killing them.
That means it’s time to hunt again. Time to protect the Pack. They may not be shifters, but they’re mine. My family. Mine to protect.
Can I do that? My life has changed so much in such a short period of time and I’m still not sure what I am. Yet I have to go back into the face of danger and stand up for my family. For myself.
Being a shifter is way more dangerous than I ever would have imagined, except this is my life. I have to live it to the best of my ability and stand up for what’s right.
Even if it means killing everything in front of me.
