Three years ago, tabloid Investigators Nick Moore and Terry Banner discovered not only that ghosts are real, but that they can sometimes wreak havoc on the living. Ever since then, they've been traveling the country, helping put a number of restless--and sometimes angry--spirits to rest. Just before Halloween, as they approach Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Nick's sleep is interrupted by a recurring nightmare in which he's confronted by something horrific but is unable to cry out for help.
He and Terry have come to Wisconsin to investigate Harrison House, where the spirit of 19-year-old Lucy Harrison supposedly lingers. The question is, is Lucy's ghost real? And if so, is it Lucy who's been haunting Nick's dreams, or something else--something much more awful?
