A few weeks ago, Jimmy Nation took a job with Bell & Mooney Auctions & Antiquities, figuring it meant nothing more than loading and unloading a lot of boxes, and the occasional road trip--cruising around town with the car windows down and his music playing.
Then his boss, Blair Mooney, asks him to drive most of the way across Pennsylvania to pick up an old book that's too valuable and fragile to entrust to the mail. Still no problem, he figures--except that he'll be driving through the remains of a hurricane to a tiny town that the world seems to have forgotten about.
And the book he's picking up? It's haunted.
(NB: This is a standalone story, although it's the second book in the ANTIQUITIES series. You may want to read the first one, THE ELEVENTH CHIMERA, first.)
Genre: Horror
