A Story by

In hopes of eliminating online bullying, Amber gets a new cell phone number. She promises her parents she won’t download social media apps and limit the number of people who can contact her. It’s the only way to survive senior year.

But being a typical teen, Amber gets the itch to log into her old account, but it’s tied to her former cell phone number. To get the access code, she strikes up an unusual friendship by text messages with the person who was assigned her number. He’s funny and makes her feel like she has a friend. If only they could meet in person, things would be perfect.

Evan doesn’t seem to buy into the rumors about Amber that are all over his new school. The few times they’ve talked, she seems sweet and he makes her feel seen again. He would like to get to know Amber better but also senses a connection to the ‘cell phone girl,’ so he keeps his distance. Maybe he doesn’t have to choose between the two.
