Set in Trinidad, the story revolves around 12-year-old Leroy Blue, who is at a crossroads in his life. He is about to go and live with his aunt in New York, but he has mixed feelings about leaving. The story climaxes around the events of the island's annual jamboree - the Sylvester Ball. "Horizons" is a series specifically written for readers aged 11 to 14 in the Caribbean.
