The Adventures of Mademoiselle Charlotte

(2019)
(A book in the Adventures of Miss Charlotte series)
An omnibus of novels by

This three-book collection of Dominique Demers' zany, laugh-out-loud books (hugely popular in France) finds Miss Charlotte trying out new roles as a new teacher, a mysterious librarian and a football coach. Her madcap adventures are complemented by Horrid Henry illustrator Tony Ross' amazing artwork.

Mademoiselle Charlotte is the new teacher at school. She wears a large hat and a crumpled dress that make her look like a scarecrow, and she talks to a rock. The children think she's kooky, but they soon warm to her after being asked to measure the room with spaghetti and hearing her fascinating stories - including one about a gorilla.

In the second story, she is working as a librarian in the village of Saint-Anatole. With her eccentric style and alternative methods, she does things quite differently to the locals...

In the third story, Charlotte has been given the role of football coach and uses her weird and wonderful ways to prepare the children for the big match... By teaching them how to lose!
