Having everything in order and sticking to my routine is the way I cope with my past. It keeps the nightmares contained. I can’t let them out. I’m already scared enough of the shadows as it is. When I remember, they overtake my world.
Which is why I call my family for help when I’m stranded on the side of the road and fear is stretching toward me and about to swallow me.
