Snake Tales

(2010)
A Story by

Rattlesnakes are "8 foot long" where I come from. AND some even chase you. Nobody knows what happens if a snake catches you.

We tell our tales for hours, gathered round a pickup's tailgate, around camp fires and on front porches--even standing in line at the supermarket.

Dead snakes dangling from poles in front yards and along the highways are commonplace, and they stay there till the buzzards come and peck the jewels from their hides.
