The gods aren't dead. They're imprisoned.
And it's my job to break them out... for a price, of course.
A secret war has waged in the multi-million acre forests, mountains, and hidden lakes of your world. The greatest magical inventors and cruelest captors have created prisons of war that make Alcatraz look like a daycare...
That's where I come in.
They call me Leonidas Rex. Once the heir to a tyrant's throne, I've lived the last decade exiled in the Pacific Northwest with my sharpshooting best friend. My mobile home has wheels, so moving is never a problem.
I'm not just a prison-breaker, though. I'm also a mind-magician. Which means I manipulate human consciousness—be it with illusions, skill-mining or weaponizing memories.
You would think a mind-reader might have seen the threat coming. But I didn't.
And now, along with my sharpshooting friend and my childhood sweetheart, I'm being blackmailed into a suicide mission to breech a prison guarded by a crazed clan of treasure-loving djinn.
Survival? Unlikely. Consequences? Certainly.
To make matters worse, I can't free this particular prisoner—not without releasing what he's carrying. I know I should kill him, but I just can't bring myself to it. He is my baby brother, after all.
Can't free him. Don't want to kill him. But if I fail my mission, chances are, the hidden world will spark into an all out civil war. And soon, the rest of the world will be in for a very rude awakening.
