The Great Serpent and the City Below
(2026)(The prequel to the DCI Judas Iscariot and the Black Museum series)
A novel by Martin Davey
There are monsters in fair Albion, ancient and mighty, magical and fierce, and we rouse them at our peril.
Tarquin Delaney, CEO of Mega Water South, however, does not believe in myths and legends, old folk tales, and the worlds of the Fae. He does not care a jot for the land, its lakes and rivers, mountains and forests.Instead, under cover of night, he pours his company’s toxic waste into the Thames, and in doing so, wakes a giant and fearsome beast from the depths.
The creature, poisoned and in pain, invades London’s vast sewer system, bringing death and disaster to the troll tribes that call the deep dark places home.
And, in the city above, a giant, red-skinned lion, dread and disfigured, and crowned with spear-tipped antlers, stalks London’s streets by night.
It kills without mercy, and DCI Judas Iscariot
of Scotland Yard’s secret occult magic division,
the Black Museum, is called into action.
London, however, has other visitors too. The Norse Gods are abroad, making mayhem and misery, and an old enemy, resurrected from a watery grave by dark magic, has come for Judas.
He has two cities to save: the one above and the one below.
But can he?
