Patched for Balance: The Complete Series: Books 1-4
(2026)(A book in the Patched for Balance series)
An omnibus of novels by Saeri Doan
Four complete novels. One Assassin with Charisma 0. Seven women with lives of their own. And a System that cannot stop trying to fix all of them.
Rook Calder wanted an Assassin license, a decent drink, and maybe enough money to stop pretending broken equipment was a lifestyle choice.
Instead, he found a flaw in the Common System.
Every time Rook and his companions discover a way to make the rules serve real people, the System answers with a bigger correction.
First, his improvised Assassin build gets nerfed.
Then a stability patch assigns him one Primary girlfriend and tries to rank the women around him.
Then his entire class is rolled backward into a historical version.
Finally, the System decides actions, jobs, and people that do not fit approved Archetypes may not deserve support at all.
Across four full-length adventures, Rook and a fiercely distinct cast of women fight monsters, broken infrastructure, optimization engines, relationship rankings, class rollbacks, custom-role failures, audit logic, Compiled Zones, and increasingly powerful attempts to compress messy human choices into one clean answer.
The progression is not only in skills and System mechanics.
Relationships deepen. Jealousy changes shape. Trust becomes specific. Old abilities die. New mechanics emerge. Careers continue outside the harem. Each woman keeps her own expertise, boundaries, privacy, ambitions, conflicts, and way of loving Rook. By the finale, belonging does not mean orbiting one man—and commitment does not require becoming interchangeable.
INCLUDED:
Book 1 — My Assassin Build Got Nerfed Again
Book 2 — The System Assigned Me One Girlfriend
Book 3 — They Nerfed My Whole Class
Book 4 — My Party Is Invalid
Perfect for readers who want a complete cozy progression fantasy with crunchy LitRPG mechanics, adult harem romance, found-family banter, broken classes, System glitches, unusual boss fights, relationship progression, custom builds, and a shameless Assassin who keeps asking the one question the System hates most: who decided this rule had to be universal?
Genre: GameLit
