The System assigned Rook Calder one girlfriend. Six women were in the room. Nobody had been consulted.

After surviving one citywide balance disaster, Rook's party is finally getting good at working together. Kae owns routes. Astra owns structural calls. Penny fixes machines that should not be fixable. Mira maps what the System cannot see. Noemi keeps people alive. Seraphine can turn a bad rule into a legal argument sharp enough to cut steel.

Then Group Stability Patch 13.0 decides cooperation would be simpler if one woman came first.

Seraphine is labeled Rook's
Primary Cooperative Partner—and suddenly doors, emergency routes, shared inventory, requests, and permissions begin flowing through a golden hierarchy nobody chose.

The System calls it efficiency.
Rook calls it a government-issued girlfriend.
Seraphine calls him an idiot.

The joke stops being funny when the ranking spreads.

A courier's correct route can be delayed because she is secondary. A quieter person's needs can disappear beneath louder profiles. Romantic certainty begins changing present availability. Jealousy, affection, reliability, expertise, and authority are compressed into the same dangerous number.

Rook and the women around him refuse to let a status window decide what their relationships mean—or who matters first. But the deeper they push, the more the city adopts the same logic, and the more the System treats their messy, chosen bonds as a problem to be standardized.

Expect cozy found-family scenes, adult harem romance, sharp banter, jealousy without cardboard rivalry, relationship progression, LitRPG mechanics, escalating System bosses, and a party determined to prove that love, trust, competence, and authority are not the same thing.
