A car crash leaves a bickering Englisher family snowed in on an Amish maple syrup farm, but this unexpected detour may give two marriages a second chance…

When a March snowstorm sends the Wagners’ SUV sliding off a Maine road, their family vacation takes an unexpected turn. With repairs delayed and nowhere else to stay, Julie and Roy accept the hospitality of an Amish couple in nearby Unity. But spending a week without reliable cell service or their usual distractions wasn’t part of the plan—especially with unsigned separation papers hidden in Julie’s suitcase.

Between raising three children and starting her own business, Julie has little time for herself, and her husband spends his evenings playing online games. She has nearly given up hoping Roy will choose time with her over another night at his computer.

Now, under a stranger’s roof, neither can escape the distance between them.

Meg Hershberger understands more than her unexpected guest realizes. Since the loss of their infant son, her husband, Zion, has buried himself in work on their farm. The man who once shared everything with her barely speaks of anything beyond the next maple syrup order, leaving Meg to wonder if she must carry her grief alone.

The Wagner children have learned to retreat into their devices to escape their parents’ arguments while squabbling amongst each other, leaving the family broken.

With the Hershberger children, the Wagner siblings soon find themselves laughing together as they go sledding, tell stories, and play homemade games on the farm. To their surprise, life without electricity doesn’t have to mean life without fun, and Julie and Roy have never seen their children so happy.

As shared meals, farm chores, and unexpected friendships bring the families together, both couples begin to recognize what matters most and what they could lose, but facing the truth is only the beginning.

Can a week snowed in on an Amish maple farm reunite a fractured family and give two marriages a second chance?
