Death in dangerous territory
When two bodies are discovered in marshland, DI Jodie Walsh has another murder case on her hands. Few clues lead to a killer initially, but a vague trail centres around three wanderers with conflicting alibis.One of the wanderers refers to 'a witness in the distance' before going silent, but her silence exposes a fracture that DI Walsh is determined to expose.
With Sam Hyatt keeping his distance, Jodie Walsh studies the evidence until she needs a familiar eye, deciding to call Hyatt for his take on things. The retired DI sees certain things, including his own figure in the distance, at which point a murder case comes to life.
