Crawshaw Street is full of secrets
Letty is a busybody. She likes a good ‘investigation’, poking into people’s lives, and has set her sights on Cookie, who runs the café opposite her house. He’s up to no good, she’s sure of it, and she’ll do everything she can to prove it.
Cookie thinks Letty’s watching him, and that means he’s nervous. He can’t have her finding out what he’s doing, why he has to hand over an envelope every day to a man in dark clothing. His secret needs to remain that way, but it’s looking like she won’t back off
Sharon’s still working out how to kill her neighbour. It won’t be as easy as the others, because Crawshaw Street has too many eyes, especially those belonging to Letty from number eight. That woman might find herself at the top of the list if she keeps poking her nose in.
Delia’s frightened that her past is going to come back and find her. A man she can’t bear has been writing Facebook posts, implying he has to apologise to a woman, to make amends. It has to be her, doesn’t it? What if he forces her to open the coffin-shaped box she’s held on to for decades?
And what if he tells the police what’s inside?
