It is 1811 and Captain Sir John Wharton RN and his new ship HMS Jupiter, a 50-gun fourth-rate warship, are sent to the Adriatic. A powerful Franco-Italian flotilla is threatening Britain’s control of the Eastern Mediterranean. It must be captured or destroyed.
Meanwhile, ‘Tiger’ Wharton’s sponsor Admiral Sir Alexander Cochrane is concerned that the United States of America is preparing to declare war on Britain in response to the Royal Navy’s intercepts of her merchant ships on the High Seas. Can Captain Wharton discover Washington’s intentions and get news back to the Prime Minister and the Admiralty in London?

‘I have enjoyed all of the books in the Wharton series and look forward to many more. Tiger Wharton indeed.’
‘The series as well written and exciting way to read British naval history. The characters are real and the life aboard a naval fighting ship it’s truly interesting, in space with pure terror and calculated risk.’
‘The Wharton series is one of the most enjoyable set of stories I’ve read in some time. The author’s knowledge of general naval operations and British naval history during the Age of Sail makes for compelling reading. I can hardly wait for the next volume to be released.’
‘I have been enthralled by this entire series of books and can’t wait to see what Sir John gets up to next!’
