Camping is still murder.

Campground host Vicki Vandermoon still can't sleep past 4 a.m. with the all-night Alaskan sunshine, but there's nowhere she'd rather be van-camping than Spruce Cone Campground in Alaska's beautiful Denali Park.

Even if her job sometimes feels more like mediating between kindergarteners than helping lost campers find their campsites. Vicki's campground is currently hosting a highly unpopular wildlife photographer who has managed to alienate everyone (and still hasn't found a moose), a group of surveyors stirring up the local wildlife (not to mention the locals), and a pair of feuding tour guides. On top of that, Vicki is a surrogate dog mom this week—with her best friend Miranda working on the survey crew, Vicki is watching her long-haired dachshund Barksley.

But when the photographer turns up stabbed with a survey stake and Miranda is the prime suspect, Vicki has to put on her other hat as an amateur sleuth, with Barksley's enthusiastic if not very helpful assistance, to clear her friend's name.
