(The third book in the Filed Under series)
A novel by

Odette Mercier has four days to live, and she's spending the first of them breaking into a government facility.

She didn't plan to become a fugitive at forty-seven. She really didn't plan to lead a magical resistance, expose a two-hundred-year-old conspiracy on national television, or testify before Congress while her son sat beside her trying to remember his own childhood.

But the Archive scheduled her execution for Tuesday morning, and Odette Mercier doesn't keep appointments she didn't make.

She's got ninety-six hours to:

  • Break twenty-three people out of a reconditioning facility

Help her son remember who he is before the Archive finishes erasing him

Keep her daughter's newly-activated lightning from leveling the neighborhood

Trust an extraction network of magical refugees she just met yesterday

Survive whatever the Archive throws at her once they realize she's coming

Oh, and not die on Tuesday (again)

The Archive thought they could file Odette Mercier away.

Instead, she brought the storm to their front door, the truth to Congress, and a smug magical tabby who insists every catastrophe was technically his idea.

Midlife. Magical. And done playing defense.
