Code-X5 is a Guardian fresh from the factory after being reset and having his memories wiped. But there is a flaw in X5's programming. He can't pinpoint it, but he knows something is wrong. Something is missing. Despite this, all X5 wants is a fresh start, but that's hard to do when your client is an exiled princess who wants you to help her escape from prison. When he agrees to help her, he believes he'll carry out a simple mission but then the two of them discover a scheme that threatens to unravel the very fabric of the Valetian Empire.
