Earth and the fantasy realm of Carnt have crashed together, and it's going about as well as you'd expect. Portland is the last working capital in America. Portals run like the bus. The ren faire nerds are the only people thriving. And Petra, a former teen mom from Beaverton, now rules the kingdom of Traldalor. (King, not queen. She's firm on that.)
Then things get weird.
Something beneath the Pacific is swallowing cruise ships whole. The royal giant bees refuse to fly past an invisible line in the sea, and that line creeps closer every day. And Jack, the water wizard who sings his spells, has been kidnapped by pirates who'd like him to sink ships for them.
Oh, and the President of the United States is undead. Jenny, the Misfits' least trustworthy frenemy, swears it's an improvement. The President, for his part, agrees.
The Misfits are scattered across two worlds, two oceans, and several very bad decisions. To survive, they'll need swords, spells, one golden assault rifle, and a lot of Bette Midler.
