Tempest at Rufford Abbey
(2026)(The second book in the Sisters of Sherwood series)
A novel by Ann Elizabeth Fryer
A Tempest is stirring...
Can a marriage born of duty become a love story?
When Moriah Croft unexpectedly finds herself wed to Heathcliff, she leaves her sister behind in Nottingham for a new life at Rufford Abbey. Though their union began under unusual circumstances, Moriah soon discovers a man of quiet strength whose guarded heart is as compelling as it is haunted.
Heathcliff has spent years carrying the weight of a past mistake, one tied to Moriah's own family. Just as he resolves to tell the truth, new troubles emerge. A powerful duchess demands his obedience in a scheme to steal a chalice, an act that could destroy everything he and Moriah are building together.
Meanwhile, poachers wreak havoc on the land, threats against the Baron of Rufford Abbey arise, and rumors about Moriah’s brother begin to swirl. As danger closes in and loyalties are tested, Moriah and Heathcliff discover more than the Baron’s staff live at Rufford Abbey, and more than the Baron’s life is at stake.
Set against the rolling forests of Nottinghamshire, Moriah and Heathcliff forge a love that isn’t easily broken and conquer a difficulty neither of them ever expected...
