Our Israeli Diary is the first-hand record written every morning by Antonia Fraser during her visit with Harold Pinter in May 1978, the thirtieth anniversary of the foundation of the State of Israel: it was recently discovered by chance and has never been published.

Antonia Fraser and Harold Pinter, the internationally famous playwright awarded the Nobel Prize in 2005, lived together from 1975 until his death in 2008. She is the author of many historical works, including biographies of Mary Queen of Scots, Cromwell and Marie Antoinette, The Gunpowder Plot, and The Weaker Vessel: Woman's Lot in 17th century England. Antonia Fraser has also written eight crime stories featuring Jemima Shore, Investigator, such as Quiet as a Nun and Oxford Blood. She is the author of two memoirs, Must You Go?: My life with Harold Pinter, and most recently My History: a memoir of Growing Up. Antonia Fraser has been Chairman of the Society of Authors, Chairman of the Crimewriters Association and President of English P.E.N. She has won many prizes, including the Wolfson Award for History and the Norton Medlicott Historical Medal; in 2011 she was made a D.B.E.
